STEP 3: In the comment box below, share your biggest question (or concern) with training and selling horses for profit...

Post your question:

  1. In 30-60 days I haven't been successful in guaranteeing that a horse is "trained" mostly because buyers are not the same as me. That's not saying I'm better in anyway, just that horses need consistency especially a "flip". How do you sell a horse with 30-60 days on it and tell people the horse is "solid" as is?

  2. My biggest question is on the same of the horse. It seems people at more willing to buy, and pay more at an auction then from an individual. Even with social media, where do you find buyers in 24 hours?

  3. I see horses with very little show experience but well broke at high prices. Do you think it is better to give them show experience or do you feel you don't get the return on it that you should for an entry levle show horse?

  4. As a trainer How do you go about selling a project horse that isn’t “perfect or finished” knowing your name will be attached to it.

  5. 😊 Can't wait!

  6. Affording the project horse while you are training/showing. Board/feed/feet etc

  7. My biggest concern with buying, training and selling is how connected and committed I get to finding the right-fit home for a horse. I have tried to buy, train and sell in the past and have struggled in the selling part because I care a lot about the success and quality of life the horse will have. Considering this, do you think buying and selling is something that might not be right for me to make money?

  8. How do you evaluate/what characteristics do you look for in a potential project horse when starting out with no personal reputation to attract buyers?

  9. Choosing what project horse to buy. What characteristics do you look most at for resale value?

  10. What age is the best to start with. 2-3 or 4 year old unbroke … or at least with 60 / 90 Days of training/ riding?

  11. I have a project horse that I have grown to really enjoy, how do you know when to sell or if it’s a horse worth keeping and growing your name as a trainer to show?

  12. Best horse sales sites?

  13. What are your recommendations on picking a project horse with a low budget without borrowing money?

  14. I am a beginner breeder and am looking for help to be more profitable. I eventually want to quit my 9-5 job and have my breeding business sustainable. I am interested in occasionally flipping a horse or two, but I don't want to get stuck in trading horses. I have worked for different trainers and seem to find a glass ceiling and get stuck. I am looking forward to this. Thank you!

  15. Are there certain things you do to study the market to know the potential value of a project you purchase?

  16. I’m interested in learning more about training and selling project horses. Thank you

  17. First note that my signup email is incorrect How often does this not work?

  18. You go out on a limb buy a quality prospect take the time and train to the best of your ability, you don’t have the name recognition and even though your horse is fit, soft, supple and started right you are lucky to get your investment back not to mention your time and care for the animal are now a loss.

  19. How does one get someone to buy from a remote area? How do you find serious buyers that can ride well enough to ride these well started young horses?

  20. Where are the best places to advertise horses for sale?
