Do you recommend private treaty or auction sales?
How do you deal with losses, (ie. Failed PPE’S, injuries, wrong career for horse) and getting past this financially?
Want to know how to start earning income this way.
We train flat shod Tennessee Walking Horses, I’m concerned that the market for a quality show horse is vanishing around the country. Can this model be sustainable with my breed?
We have a small breeding program. I get stuck trying to figure out how to price them. Where is the best place to market them?
Really just curious about what works for others. Looking forward to the session.
Vetting your own horses before marketing. Of course marketing a sound and UTD horse on basics, but should those basics include more such as radiograph, etc.? How much would you put into the horse in this aspect before marketing.
Best way to sell a horse and how to price it?
What does the Program structure look like? How does each piece fit together?
Does it matter what discipline/breed I’m selling? We train pleasure horses and hunt seaters for a living. But are beginning to transition to the ranch and cow horse events.
When an average hunter/jumper show costs $1500 to enter, how can I get miles on my investment horse without breaking the bank?
How to get started on from nothing and use the horse training knowledge I have without having to work for someone else and do the fourteen hour day, seven days a week burn out. And how to get a reputable name out there with limited or no client work.
How do you effectively let a buyer know that a horse would not suit them and to try another? Once the horse is at a good place on the basics how much time should be spent riding them a day?
What is the average time that it takes to train and prepare a horse for resale?
How do you find affordable prospects and how do you ask for a sale price you personally might not pay?
Attract good clients
In your opinion, what makes a good or great project/sale horse?
How do you find affordable, quality prospects? How do you market an older horse?
What is the recommended or necessary window for turnaround time for each horse? In Maine, part of winter can be hard for keeping horses worked without an indoor, so this question pertains to whether a horse should be kept a full year/year round and best time to buy possibly being coming out of winter and when to sell. Thank you.
Hi! I have a 10 year old A Dash Ta Streak mare that I bought as a 6 year old finished barrel horse. Although, she wasn’t seasoned. I finished her out with the help of my good friend, Julie Murphy, who is also a barrel horse trainer. I have been under her wing for about 3 years now. She has so many client horses and that works well for her. But I don’t have the place that could house many horses. I do have a full time job working for family that allows for time to pour into riding and working with the horses and I do have a spot for one more horse! So I debated going so many different routes. But I believe keeping it simple with less horses and the train to sell method keeps your passion the most profitable. So I am excited to learn about this method!
