About Al Dunning:

Few horsemen have shaped Western performance the way Al Dunning has. For more than five decades, Al has built champion horses, mentored top trainers, and taught riders around the world from his Almosta Ranch training facility in Scottsdale, Arizona (est. 1970).

Al and his students have earned 57+ World and Reserve World titles across AQHA, NCHA, NRCHA, and NRHA—proof of a system that works in the show pen and in business. He’s been recognized as AQHA Professional Horseman of the Year (1996) and received NCHA’s Zane Schulte Trainer of the Year (2003) for integrity and leadership.

He also trained and showed the legendary Expensive Hobby, a buckskin performance icon later inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame—a testament to Al’s standard of horsemanship.
