STEP 3: In the comment box below, share your biggest question about building a successful horse business..

  1. Where do I find safe well trained, lesson horses to replace my schoolmasters that are aging out in their now mid to late twenties? We teach at all levels starting everybody bareback, the four and five-year-old little ones need some thing, extremely smooth and gentle. I’m looking for horses to build a riders confidence, they all need to go in a snaffle, they need to be able to be ridden like they could go to, a little show in order to teach what I want everybody to learn. Not just stop go, but how to move the horses, front end back end, middle… I’ve had such fantastic horses, gifted to me when their riders have gone to college. Our world show horses have been Perfect fo many many students. I’ve been truly blessed to be able to keep almost everything in my barn to use for the next generations of little ones. There’s a definite shortage of what I’m looking for, and I’m wondering if you could give me ideas of where to look. Thanks.

  2. How do I politely avoid tire kickers?

  3. I would like to know how to market myself better.

  4. I would like to learn how to keep a steady flow instead of having 10 one month and 5 the other also how to break even on cattle expense.

  5. How to effectively and efficiently sell horses in the NRHA. I have several nice horses that are for sale but not sure how to market them for sale.

  6. How are you finding clients for your start up?

  7. 1) I would like to have higher caliber horses (I have trained World Champions, but with the big shows getting longer, I have trouble taking 3-4, while leaving a bunch home). 2) Age and my back are limiting what I can do. I need to find other revenue streams. Sales, lessons, other ideas?

  8. I would like to learn how to market myself. I want to learn more about keeping books and what you use.

  9. I want to be able to afford a few nice mares to get started in breeding and sales.

  10. How do I get an established name in the horse sale industry. Selling rope horses.

  11. How to get more customers.

  12. How do I get connected with people I can intern under or learn from? I have some good names but would like to become more connected

  13. My husband and I have a 2 year old program that we would like to learn how to market ourselves better on. We are interested in finding multiple avenues of generating income that will be able to be passed down to our children in the future. We are also interested in how to produce more income with taking in less horses so we can still have a better balance in our lives. Thank you and looking forward to learning as much as we can.

  14. I’ve been successful in building steady lesson programs putting clients on my own horses, but I’d like to move into more promoting my own horses and drawing in clients who own their own horses/ desire to be competitive as riders. How can I best do this?

  15. We don’t need the business to pay our bills. We just want to allow my husband to do what he loves without paying for someone else’s hobby. With rising costs of EVERYTHING, the business is no longer breaking even.

  16. I would like to learn how to match the right home with the right horse and not drown in debt

  17. I'd like to learn how to create passive income, attract better clients and be deeper involved in my part of the industry

  18. I want to learn a more effective way to increase client numbers.

  19. I want to know how to be able to bring in consistent money to raise my three kids. I raise quarter horses, I would like to be able to make enough to buy some high named horses for my program along with being able to have extra to live on. I’m just now trying to get my website done and up. I also raise mini Aussies on the side to bring money in. Just being able to have extra knowledge on the business and how to make it work.

  20. I want to learn how to make my business work for me. For years I’ve struggled with increasing my rates and always believed I needed to ride more horses to make more money. However, I’m not getting any younger and would like to find a way to take fewer, higher quality horses so that I can focus on quality over quantity. Also, determine what I need to make my business sustainable and successful.
